What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a gel-like substance injected into joints to treat arthritis.  It is also called “Visco-supplementation”.  Popular brands of HA include: Durolane, Monovisc, Synvisc, Euflexxa, etc.  HA can be used in other joint arthritis but is only FDA approved for the knee.
